Helping Families of Special Needs Kids Plan SENSEational Disney Trips

Passion #1 Special Needs Kids

Hi! My name is Courtney and I am a kid OT. I have been a practicing pediatric occupational therapist (OT) for the past 15 years. I get to work with special little (and big!) ones for my job. This also means I get to love on them, play with them and get to know their amazing families! I really do have the best occupation ever.

In the past 15 years, I have treated a wide range of abilities and diagnoses. All the kids I have seen over the years are individuals with their own needs and strengths. No two are ever the same.

Sometimes those needs can be difficult to manage when you are traveling to such a sensory-rich environment like Walt Disney World. Children with special needs process incoming information differently than you or I, or even their siblings and friends

This is where I believe I can help you, the parent or family member, plan for a SMART vacation. Let’s work together to strategize a plan that helps your special needs child have the most magical vacation ever!

I believe every child should have the opportunity to have the best experience possible at Walt Disney World.  Whether they are seeing Cinderella’s Castle on Main Street, experiencing an attraction or meeting Mickey, the very mouse himself!

Passion #2 Walt Disney World

I have visited Disney World nearly 15 times. Eight of those trips have been in the past 5 years so I am very familiar with park touring, ride details, and the best tips and tricks to planning a relaxing and fun vacation.

My family and I are also Disney Vacation Club Members and Annual Passholders. We have stayed at resorts in every category including Pop Century, Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge.

We live 8 hours from Orlando and travel there multiple times a year. I have been there as a kid, as a teen, with a sensory- overloaded toddler, while 3 months pregnant and with a nursing 6 month old. That’s just to name a few!

What does  this mean for you? I have the knowledge and know-how to match up special kids and their needs and going to the most magical place on earth!

Disney Makes My Family Happy Too!

I have the honor of being the mom to two amazing ‘beasties’ and wife to my bestie.  We live in the great state of Tennessee.

For relaxation, we enjoy rocking on our front porch, having family movie nights and exploring the outdoors.

Of course that’s just when we aren’t planning our next Disney trip!
